So what even is this

Splat Fighters is an experiment of sorts to create a "sweaty" competitive version of the game, or at least a version of the game where that facet of Uno is more apparent. So lately I've developed a case of the brainworms for Uno (aka Crazy Eights, which Uno is just a proprietary version of). I, like a lot of people, initially dismissed Uno as just a goofy/bad/random card game, but I got myself a copy of the Transformers themed version a few months ago and realized that there definitely is some kind of depth to it, and it's been on my mind ever since.

I also saw that Uno (or at least the Transformers version) has bluffing/challenge rules that rarely come up in actual play and that got my fighting card game brainworms tingling, which I have a pretty bad case of. Most of my previous games like Enmity Engine, Circle of Power, and Bet x Battle (and a lot of future titles that I'm currently working on) are an expression of my FCG brainworms. So I've kinda married the two concepts and added some bluffing mechanics and layered on a kinda-sorta fighting card game veneer with asymmetric character abilities.

Anyway, I made this a while ago but I kinda sat on it a bit to let it marinate a bit more in the hopes of maybe developing it into a more robust game (or at least come up with a better name), but I have ideas for a couple other Uno-like card games that I'd rather spend my time on. Also I'm entering my "I'm sick of sitting on a bunch of unfinished projects that are mostly good enough to push out so I'm just gonna push em out and move on with my life" era so here it is now. Enjoy, or not.

PS: Try playing around with the Draw action, even when you have playable cards in hand.
